The history of Coca-Cola in South Africa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Coca-Cola\u2019s journey in South Africa began in 1928, when the first bottle was sold in Cape Town. By 1981, Coca-Cola had captured 90% of the South African soft drink market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, in 1986, the company had to close its offices in South Africa due to the political climate. Despite this setback, Coca-Cola supported the victims of apartheid through a $10 million contribution to the Equal Opportunities Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
